THE KEMPER FOUNDATION (the “The Kemper Foundation”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) values the privacy of users (“you”, “your”) of our website https://www.thekemperfoundation.org/, other websites we operate, mobile features, online portals, electronic forms, surveys, our events and programs registrations, applications for funding, and other programs such as grants or scholarships, and any other point of collection (collectively, the “Programs”). This Privacy Policy (“Privacy Policy”) applies to Personal Information (as defined below) that we collect about you through the Programs and when applicable, covers Personal Information collected offline by The Kemper Foundation, including without limitation Personal Information collected through our Programs and at our events unless another privacy policy is provided, posted, or referenced.
“Personal Information” means all nonpublic information related to an identified individual. Personal Information does not include anonymized data or de-identified data.
This Privacy Policy describes the Personal Information we collect about you, why we collect it, how we use it, and when we disclose such Personal Information. Our Privacy Policy also describes the choices you can make about how we collect, use, and disclose certain Personal Information. If our privacy practices or applicable law change, we will post an updated Privacy Policy on our website. You can tell if the Privacy Policy has changed by checking the revision date that appears at the top of this page. When you leave a phone message for us or speak with one our representatives, we may also collect the content of your message to us, or conversation with us, and/or a recording
- Geolocation data automatically when you use our websites, social media, or mobile apps
- Data we collect automatically through cookies, pixels, and other tracking technologies, such as your IP address, the type of browser you use, what part of our sites you visit
- Personal Information contained in, or included with, any proposal or application documents, feedback, comments, photos, videos, or other information you submit to us. You may provide Personal Information on behalf of another person if you have provided them with a copy of this Privacy Policy and obtained their explicit consent. We may ask you to provide evidence of such notice and consent.
We also may use your Personal Information for any other purposes disclosed to you at the time we collect the information, or otherwise with your consent.
Please do not provide the Kemper Foundation any sensitive personal data unless specifically requested and necessary for your interactions with the Kemper Foundation.

The Kemper Foundation may collect information from you automatically when you use our Programs or open our emails. This information is for system administration and other internal business purposes and provides us statistical data about how you use our Programs. We use this information to deliver better and more customized services.

EMAIL COMMUNICATIONS AND CHOICE/OPT-OUT
We may send you emails periodically if you have subscribed. Occasionally, we may send announcements about Kemper Foundation events, campaigns, and Programs.
To be removed from our email lists, please click the unsubscribe button found at the bottom of any of the emails that we send you. Please allow us at least ten (10) business days from when the request is received to complete the removal, as some of our emails may already have been in process before you submitted your request.
SECURITY
The Kemper Foundation uses commercially reasonable measures to keep your Personal Information private and safe. We take appropriate physical, electronic, and administrative steps to maintain the security and accuracy of the Personal Information that we collect, including limiting the number of people who have physical access to our database servers, as well as employing electronic security systems and password protections that guard against unauthorized access.
Unfortunately, the transmission of data over the internet cannot be guaranteed to be 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable means to ensure the security of information you transmit to us, we cannot guarantee that such information will not be intercepted by other parties. “SPOOFING” AND “PHISHING”
“Spoofing” or “Phishing” are common internet scams. These may occur when you receive an email from what appears to be a legitimate source requesting Personal Information from you. Please be aware The Kemper Foundation will NEVER send you an email requesting you to provide credit card or bank information via email. If you ever receive an email that appears to be from us requesting such information from you, DO NOT respond to it, and DO NOT click on any links appearing in the email. CHILDREN’S PRIVACY
We do not intentionally collect any Personal Information from children under the age of thirteen (13) and will delete any such information if we become aware that we have collected Personal Information from children. Schools participating in our Programs may provide us with images depicting children if they have obtained parental permission to do so.
YOUR CONSENT
You acknowledge this Privacy Policy and you agree: (1) that using our Programs signifies your assent to The Kemper Foundation’s Privacy Policy; (2) that such Privacy Policy is subject to all applicable laws; and (3) your use is undertaken at your own risk. The Kemper Foundation reserves the right to change its Privacy Policy at any time, without advance notice. As described above, if we decide to change our Privacy Policy, we will post those changes on this page so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we disclose it.
In the event of a corporate reorganization or asset transfer, your Personal Information may also be transferred. By giving us your Personal Information, you consent to those transfers occurring.
