Preparations for Your Chicago Summer Experience (2020):

Look ahead and keep in mind these dates as the lead up to your arrival in Chicago.

October-November

Complete your Goals Call with Foundation Staff

Discuss the progress you have made on your semester goals and discuss timeline and next steps for your Chicago nonprofit internship match.

Week of Thanksgiving

Foundation Staff will send you your assigned nonprofit internship site.

Foundation Staff will be in touch with you to inform you of your nonprofit internship match, and an e-introduction will be made to introduce you to your potential internship host site.

December-February

Schedule and complete your Skype or phone interview with your internship site.

Following e-introductions made via Foundation staff, connect with your internship site to schedule and confirm your interview. This will likely take place after the new year due to end-of-the-year fundraising taking place in December for many organizations.

Late-February

Receive summer stipend for travel costs and Chicago summer needs.

This stipend will serve as a resource to purchase your travel to and from Chicago and will serve as your wages for your summer work with your designated nonprofit.

Begin booking or researching travel reservations to get to and from Chicago soon in order to access best pricing.

By March 31

Complete summer prep work as outlined in email from Foundation staff by March 31st.

This includes submitting roommate preferences, completing an online Strong Interest Inventory/Meyer-Briggs and the Chicago Summer Questionnaire in Foundant.

Tuesday June 2

Arrive to University Center no later than 12pm.

This is your move-in date to University Center, and the day will conclude with a Welcome Dinner with Jerry and Jenn.
